Reem Kadem, who will be seen in a Malayalam film soon, is a screenwriter as well.

The actress has a project coming up now, which, she says, is inspired by her own life. 'It is a comedy, and has Lainie Kazan from My Big Fat Greek Wedding attached to it. The story itself is like a Middle East take on My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I come from a traditional family and my parents wanted me to be a lawyer or doctor, and get married. But then, I was born an artist. I thus became the black sheep of my family. I love my family but I had to make them understand that I am an independent free thinking person. The movie is thus all about the first generation vs the second and I'm sure everyone can relate to it.'
