Director
Geetu Mohandas’ film
Moothon
grabbed three awards at
New York Indian Film Festival
2020 on Sunday. The Nivin Pauly-starrer bagged the Best Actor, Best Film and Best Child Actor.
The award was Nivin’s first international award and the actor was delighted by the honour. “I am extremely happy because it’s my first award in an international forum and getting it from the New York Indian Film Festival is great. I want to thank the jury and my director Geetu Mohandas for believing in me and pushing me hard towards a path I have never walked before,” said Nivin.
The film’s director Geetu Mohandas too was happy that both her actors Nivin and
Sanjana Dipu won awards at the festival. “First international award for my beautiful actors
Nivin Pauly and Sanjana. Proud of you guys and congratulations to team Moothon,” she posted on her social media page.
The filmmaker also added that it was a special moment for her to share the accolades with director Geetha J, whose film Run Kalyani fetched
Garggi Ananthan the Best Actress Award at the festival.
