Nivin Pauly starrer ‘Thuramukham’ to release on March 10
Nivin Pauly’s much-awaited film ‘Thuramukham’ directed by Rajeev Ravi is heading to the big screens in March. The film is slated for release on March 10. After multiple delays, the makers have now confirmed that ‘Thuramukham’ will be released on the big screens on March 10, 2023.
The film was getting delayed due to production-related issues, and other legal troubles. The film was set to release in the first half of 2022. However, it was later postponed to June, and it got delayed multiple times.
Directed by Rajeev Ravi, ‘Thuramukham’ features Nivin Pauly in the lead role. The upcoming film boasts an ensemble cast of Joju George, Indrajith, Sudev Nair, Manikandan, Arjun Asokan, Nimisha Sajayan, Poornima Indrajith, and Darshana Rajendran in prominent roles. The makers dropped the teaser and trailer earlier, which grabbed the eyeballs of the movie buffs for all the right reasons.
‘Thuramukham’ is a period drama, based on the play by KM Chidambaran, in the same name. The upcoming film is scripted by his son Gopan Chidambaram. Set against the backdrop of Cochin port, the story of the film happens between 1927 to 1953. The film revolves around the infamous ‘chappa’ system, that existed in Cochin harbour during the 1940s and 50s, where a copper coin was tossed in the air and workers had to fight to grab the coin for work.
