Nivin Pauly’s ‘Shekhara Varma Rajavu’ starts rolling

Nivin Pauly's much-anticipated film ‘Shekhara Varma Rajavu’ has officially begun production. Following the films ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ and his last film ‘Malayalee From India’, Nivin is now set to captivate audiences with a story rooted in the rich traditions of Kerala’s royal heritage.

The film’s journey commenced with an auspicious pooja function in Kalamassery, signaling the start of its first shooting schedule. Directed by Anuraj Manohar, ‘Shekhara Varma Rajavu’ is set against the backdrop of the fictional kingdom of Shekhara Varma, offering a unique blend of historical narrative and social satire. This project promises to be a visual treat, with its grand scale and intricate portrayal of political dynamics within a royal court.


The story, penned by S Ranjith, delves into the life of the main character, exploring his place in society and the conflicts that arise from his interactions with the world around him. The film seeks to address broader themes of societal politics.

Anuraj Manohar is also currently directing ‘Narivetta’ starring Tovino Thomas. The film boasts a talented crew including cinematographer Ansar Shah and editor Kiran Das.

Meanwhile, Nivin Pauly’s previous film, ‘Malayalee From India’, directed by Dijo Jose Antony, garnered mixed reviews, setting the stage for the actor to potentially make a strong comeback with this new venture.
