‘Nunakkuzhi’ box office collection day 8: Basil Joseph starrer collects Rs 26 lakh on Thursday

Malayalam film ‘Nunakkuzhi’ directed by Jeethu Joseph, continues to perform steadily at the box office on its eighth day. On Thursday, August 22, the film earned an estimated Rs 26 lakh in India net, according to early estimates by Sacnilk.

The film had an overall Malayalam occupancy of 12.36 percent on Thursday, The morning shows had a 5.46 percent turnout, which picked up slightly to 10.11 percent in the afternoon. Evening shows saw an occupancy of 11.19 percent, while night shows had the highest turnout at 22.68 percent. With the weekend approaching, the occupancy rates are expected to go high. However, as new films are releasing on Friday, it can also affect the footfall of the film. By the end of the eighth day, the film’s total box office collection had come to approximately Rs 14.5 crore.

Directed by Jeethu Joseph, ‘Nunakkuzhi’ has a strong ensemble cast, including Basil Joseph, Nikhila Vimal, Swasika Vijay, Grace Antony, Baiju Santhosh, and Saiju Kurup. The comedy entertainer has managed to bring in the family audience, thanks to its engaging storyline and solid performances.

ETimes rated the film 3.5 out of 5 and the review reads, “'Nunakuzhi' is a delightful comedy-drama that expertly navigates the turmoil unleashed by a single lie. Basil Joseph stars as Eby, who finds himself caught in a web of deceit while desperately trying to retrieve his laptop, which contains intimate recordings of him and his wife, from an income tax officer. His search leads him to Reshmita, played by Grace Antony, who is grappling with her own personal issues, including a contentious divorce and false accusations. As their paths cross, the film unfolds with a mix of comedy and drama.”
