Omar Lulu cancels trailer launch of ‘Nalla Samayam’ as Kozhikode mall unwelcome Shakeela

Omar Lulu’s film ‘Nalla Samayam’ is gearing up for release, and the makers of the film had planned to launch the trailer in a grand event held on November 19 at a shopping mall in Kozhikode, which was to be attended by actress Shakeela. However, later that day, Omar Lulu dropped a video on social media, informing that the trailer launch has been cancelled. In the video, Omar Lulu was seen with Shakeela, and he stated that the shopping mall allegedly denied the venue, because she was invited as the guest. He also shared that the mall later informed him, that the event could be conducted, but without the actress.

“We had planned our trailer launch at Kozhikode Highlight mall. The problems arose when they came to know she was the guest. Initially, they cited security reasons but later informed me that the program can be conducted without her. But we cancelled the program,” Omar Lulu said in the video.

Shakeela too expressed that she felt bad and hurt learning about this approach, and also added that similar incidents have happened to her earlier. “You yourself gave me this position and you don’t accept me, I don’t know why,” she said in the video.

In a recent event held in Kerala, Shakeela reportedly said, “This is not the Kerala which I had seen twenty years ago.”

Though Omar Lulu canceled the trailer launch event because Shakeela was barred from attending the event, he, along with a few cast and crew of ‘Nalla Samayam’ held a cake-cutting ceremony with the actress, post the trailer release.

For the unversed, Shakeela is a former adult film star, who has also appeared in several mainstream films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
