Neeraj Madhav was also delighted for the fact that the 'Best Foreign Film' category has now been renamed as the 'Best International Feature Film' category. He applauded the new direction in which the Academy Awards are headed in.
It was in April 2019 that the Academy rebranded the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ category to the ‘Best International Film’ category. The committee found the reference to ‘foreign’ as outdated within the global filmmaking community and hence renamed it to the ‘International’.
Neeraj also added that the success of ‘Parasite’ is a ray of hope as it proves that the prestigious award is ‘achievable’ for artists across the globe. He wrote, “History! Best Foreign Film category has been renamed as Best International Film and ironically the best international film, a Korean film, wins the Oscar for the best picture! This means it’s achievable for all of us! Being from any part of the world, we can all start dreaming about winning an oscar! #oscars2020.”
Meanwhile, Neeraj Madhavan was last seen in ‘Gauthamante Radham’ essaying the lead role. The actor portrayed the titular character ‘Gauthaman’ who is a car enthusiast and finds an emotional rapport with his first car. The movie released a couple of weeks ago and is continuing to garner praise from the audience.
