‘Ouseppinte Osiyathu’ OTT release: When and where to watch the Vijayaraghavan starrer

After getting much adulation for his magnificent performance in the film ‘Kishkindha Kaandan’, Vijayaraghavan made his next outing with the drama movie ‘Ouseppinte Osiyathu’ and the movie has started streaming on OTT nearly two months after its theatrical release.

The film marks the directorial debut of Sarath Chandran and unfolds as an emotional family drama set against the scenic backdrop of Idukki.

An intense family drama

Vijayaraghavan plays the central role of Ousepp, a traditional family patriarch whose strained relationship with his three sons becomes the emotional core of the story. The film delves into the complexity of familial bonds, misunderstandings, and generational conflict, exploring what happens when a pivotal issue creates a rift between Ousepp and his sons.

3/4

Stunning cast and crew

The cast includes acclaimed filmmaker-actor Dileesh Pothan, Kalabhavan Shajohn, and Hemanth Menon as the three sons. Kani Kusruti, who has gained international recognition with All We Imagine as Light, Zarin Shihab of Aattam fame, and Lenaa appear in significant supporting roles.

Cinematography is handled by Arvind Kannabiran, while B. Ajithkumar is in charge of editing. The film’s music is another highlight, with Sumesh Parameswar composing the original songs and Akshay Menon scoring the background music.

Here’s our review

The Vijayaraghavan starrer has started streaming on Amazon Prime from May 1 onwards.

ETimes gave a decent rating of 3 stars out of 5 for the film and our review read, “Ouseppinte Osiyathu is a film with many layers—an exploration of relationships between fathers and sons, between brothers, and how childhood trauma shapes people. It delves into societal expectations that place an elder sibling in a quasi-parental role and examines how even those who love each other react when faced with unforeseen tragedy. Debut director Sarath Chandran RJ and writer Fazal Hassan have intricately woven these themes into the plot, making it cohesive and deeply moving, with a touch of tragedy.”
