Prasanna Vithanage's film ‘Paradise’ won the Kim Jiseok Award for the Best Film at the Busan International Film Festival 2023. The film featuring Roshan Mathew, Darshana Rajendran, Shyam Fernando, and Mahendra Perera in the lead roles had its world premiere at Busan and came out with flying colours.
Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran have now expressed excitement about the big win. Roshan Mathew took to his social media handle and announced, “We're thrilled to share that ‘Paradise’ won the Kim Jiseok award for best picture at the Busan International Film Festival 2023.”

‘Paradise’ narrates the vacation of a tourist couple, exploring their struggles with societal, personal, and internal challenges. Through their experiences, they unveil an objective truth about human nature. The film has the characters conversing in Malayalam, Sinhala, Tamil and Hindi.
On the other hand, Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran have previously worked together in films 'Aanum Pennum,' and 'C U Soon.'
