'Patriot' director Mahesh Narayanan says, 'I felt this is a story I can tell Mammukka'

Director Mahesh Narayanan has finally revealed more details about 'Patriot' which is the new film that brings Mammootty and Mohanlal together after 19 long years.The 'Take Off' director said during a fest organized by Mathrubhumi, “Patriot is a film with many surprises. I see it as a commercial film.” He explained that when he was writing the story, he felt a special connection with it. The director said, “When I wrote it, I felt this is a story I can tell Mammukka. That is when the film grew.”Mahesh Narayanan said that after he shared the idea with Mammootty, the project began to expand. He said, “After that Fahadh, Chackochan, Lal sir and others joined it.” Many well-known actors started becoming part of it one by one. It was not planned like a big star film at first, but the story slowly brought all of them together. The director also said they made the film in the best way a commercial film can be presented. He believes the movie has something new in its style and look. Mahesh further said that he has tried doing something different in 'Patriot'. He shared, “I believe I have tried a new language inside it.”Mahesh also added that the film has a political side and made it clear that the story is not just about action or mass scenes. It also talks about ideas and things happening around people.Mahesh Narayanan did not hide that the film has big fan moments. He said, “Fan moments are definitely there in the movie.” He knew that people would want to see Mammootty and Mohanlal together in scenes that make fans happy. The director said the two stars acted together for almost ten days. These scenes are expected to be the main highlight in the film.Apart from the two superstars, the film has a long list of good actors. The cast includes Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Lal, Jinu Joseph, Rajeev Menon, Danish Husain, Shaheen Siddique, Sanal Aman, Darshana Rajendran, and many others in pivotal roles.'Patriot' will be released all over the world on April 23.
