'Ponman' OTT Release: When and where to watch Basil Joseph's Malayalam dark comedy movie

Malayalam dark comedy 'Ponman', starring Basil Joseph, Sajin Gopu, Lijomol Jose, Anand Manmadhan, and Deepak Parambol in key roles, is all set for its OTT release after a successful theatrical run. The film, which hit cinemas on January 30, is based on GR Indugopan's novel Naalanchu Cheruppakar and has been widely praised for its engaging storyline and box office performance.

Now, Ponman is set to captivate audiences through digital streaming. The film will be available to watch on OTT from March 14. Confirming the much-anticipated release, the streaming platform shared an announcement on its X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating: "This golden man will shine! Ponman will be streaming from March 14 on JioHotstar!"



The movie follows PP Ajesh, a jewellery sales agent with an unconventional business model—he supplies gold ornaments to brides' families, expecting repayment through the monetary gifts received at the wedding.

However, Ajesh’s business takes an unexpected turn when he loans out 25 sovereigns of gold, only to recover less than half of it. Determined to retrieve what is rightfully his, he embarks on a gripping chase that entangles him in a web of financial, social, and political hurdles.

Ponman also features Sandhya Rajendran, Rajesh Sharma, Aanand Manmadhan, and Midhun Venugopal in significant roles. The film is directed by Jothish Shankar, with music composed by Justin Varghese.

On the work front, Basil Joseph is gearing up for the release of his next movie, 'Marana Mass', directed by Sivaprasad. Produced by actor Tovino Thomas, the film will also feature Suresh Krishna and Rajesh Madhavan in key roles.
