Prithviraj has always been vocal about being a die-hard
Sachin Tendulkar fan. The actor recently opened up about his fanship for the Master Blaster as a youngster.
“There was a point in my life when I became a Sachin Tendulkar fan; this was way before the Desert Storm innings in Sharjah. From then on, frankly if Sachin hadn’t scored a single century for the rest of his career, I would still have been his fan because me idolising him no longer depended on his success. What happens with that kind of relationship is that you are making yourself vulnerable to that person. I still remember when the whole match-fixing scandal happened, I was praying, ‘God, please don’t let Sachin be part of this’. Because if he was involved, I would probably have stopped watching

. That’s how much he meant to me at that time. That’s a true fan emotion and I know this because I am a fan of Sachin, Mohanlal and Mammootty,” says Prithviraj.
The actor’s upcoming movie
Driving Licence
explores this kind of fanship. “The dynamics of the film become interesting because the fan is a motor vehicle inspector and the superstar must procure a new driving licence to shoot a chase sequence in his movie. At a point in the film, the star realises his licence is missing and this brings the duo together,” he explains.
