Priyadarshan opens up about directing ‘Randamoozham’, says he won’t be taking up such films after ‘Kunjali Marakkar’s failure

It’s indeed a fact that the popular director Priyadarshan knows how to handle any genre, no matter how his previous big-budget film ‘Kunjali Marakkar’ turned out to be. Recently, during the promotional function of the ace director’s next movie ‘Corona Papers’, Priyadarshan said that he won’t be directing MT Vasudevan Nair’s epic novel ‘Randamoozham’.

During the press release function of Priyadarshan’s upcoming thriller film ‘Corona Papers’, the director was asked whether he would be donning the director’s cap for MT Vasudevan Nair’s ‘Randamoozham’. Priyadarshan replied in a funny manner by saying, “No more Oozham’s. I stopped doing such movies after ‘Kunjali Marakkar’.”

Netizens are now lauding the director for accepting the mistake and also the movie buffs are waiting for a comeback of the popular director to form after the disastrous Mohanlal starrer ‘Kunjali Marakkar’.

‘Kunjali Marakkar’ hit the big screens on December 2, 2021, and the movie had the superstar Mohanlal in the lead role. The film got several negative responses from movie buffs and as a result, the movie flopped at the box office.

Meanwhile, Priyadarshan is expected to make a good comeback with the upcoming film ‘Corona Papers’ starring Shane Nigam and Shine Tom Chacko in the lead. ‘Corona Papers’ is all set to hit the big screens in April this year.
