Producer Sandra Thomas reveals she raided her friend’s closet for a promotional event!

This is indeed the day and age of thrift shopping. Though the concept is quite common in Western countries, pre-loved or upcycled clothes are still looked upon with much suspicion in parts of India. However, pre-loved or thrifted articles of clothing have always been a part of our heritage. From the bride-to-be having ‘something borrowed, something blue’ as a part of her wedding to traditional Hindu households passing their heritage jewellery to the next generation, sustainable fashion has been a part of our culture.

Film producer and actor Sandra Thomas, best known for her work in Malayalam cinema, has now divulged that she borrowed an outfit from her dear friend for a promotional event. She wore a beautiful purple kaftan set for an event, and looked absolutely stunning.

Sandra Thomas has now shared a few pictures of the same on social media, and also revealed that she borrowed the dress for a promotional interview! She also stated that there is no need for buying new clothes, and thereby emphasizing the importance of sustainability in fashion.

In a note shared on social media she said, “I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to my friend @nixy_xavier for this stunning dress. After posting an Instagram story wearing it, I’ve received numerous messages asking where I got it and its price. Well, here’s the scoop: this is actually my friend’s dress, which I borrowed for a promotional interview. I believe there’s no need to constantly buy new clothes for every event or interview. So, dear friends, let’s consider exchanging or borrowing dresses from each other instead of always buying new ones. Thank you so much, @nixy_xavier, for your kind gesture."
