Ramesh Narayan clarifies the incident with Asif Ali, says, 'I don’t feel I insulted him"

Controversy has arisen surrounding Malayalam music director Ramesh Narayan after an incident involving actor Asif Ali at the trailer launch of the upcoming anthology film ‘Manorathangal’. During the event, Asif Ali was scheduled to present a memento to Ramesh Narayan, but Ramesh allegedly refused to accept it from the actor, sparking widespread criticism.

Speaking to the press, Ramesh Narayan addressed the incident, expressing his readiness to apologize to Asif Ali if he had unknowingly caused any offense. He emphasized that he did not intend to insult Asif Ali and clarified the circumstances leading to the misunderstanding.

Ramesh Narayan explained that he composed the music for the film directed by Jayaraj and was disappointed about not being invited to the venue for the trailer launch. According to Ramesh, Jayaraj had to leave for Thiruvananthapuram, and after his departure, Ramesh shared his feelings of exclusion with Ashwathi.

"I have not insulted Asif Ali. I apologize if you feel that way. I did not hear the announcement and didn’t know that Asif Ali was presenting the award. It was Jayaraj who invited me to the film. But when all the directors were invited on stage, I was not invited. It felt bad," Ramesh Narayan said.

He further clarified that he did not realize Asif Ali was coming to him to present the award because it occurred off-stage. "I didn’t try to insult anyone based on a superiority complex or something. I am still a nobody. I apologize if any misunderstandings happened in my name," he added.

Ramesh Narayan also expressed his admiration for Asif Ali, describing him as one of his favorite actors. He mentioned his intention to call Asif Ali personally to resolve the matter. "I can’t stand being a victim to cyber trolls without understanding the real reason," he concluded.
