One of the memorable characters of
Suresh Gopi, Aanakkattil Chackochi a daring 'achayan' (local name for Kottayam Christians), in the hit 1997 movie '
Lelam
', will return to the big screen in the film's upcoming sequel.
Renji Panicker, who did the screenplay for the film will handle the story, script and dialogues for the sequel, while his son
Nithin Renji Panicker will direct the movie.
It will be Suresh Gopi's return to the big screen after a long gap as the actor was engaged in politics for some time now.
The first part of the movie, directed by Joshiy was one of the biggest hits in Gopi's career, and movie lovers are expecting another mass entertainer with this sequel. It will be Nithin Renji Panicker's second movie after the controversial 'Kasaba' which had Mammootty in the lead.
Reni Panicker
will produce 'Lelam 2' under the banner Renji Panicker Entertainment.
