‘Rifle Club’ OTT release: Aashiq Abu’s film to start streaming on THIS date

Mollywood’s talented director Aashiq Abu made his grand comeback with the recently released action flick ‘Rifle Club’. According to the latest updates, the movie is gearing up for streaming after a successful theatrical run.

Those who have missed this action flick on the big screen can stream the movie on Netflix starting from January 16, Thursday onwards.


According to the Sacnilk website, ‘Rifle Club’ had minted Rs 27 crore worldwide in just 20 days and the India Net collections for the movie amounted to Rs 15.65 crore. The India Gross collections of ‘Rifle Club’ stood at Rs 17.75 crore and the overseas collections stood at Rs 9.25 crore in just 20 days.

Directed by Aashiq Abu, ‘Rifle Club’ had an ensemble cast including Vani Viswanath, Humankind, Anurag Kashyap, Dileesh Pothan, Vijayaraghavan, Darshana Rajendran, Unnimaya Prasad, Vineeth Kumar and Surabhi Lakshmi in pivotal roles. The script was penned by Dileesh Nair, Syam Pushkaran, and Sharfu.

ETimes gave ‘Rifle Club’ a rating of 3.5 out of 5 and our review reads, “The film is basically an elevator pitch story, but the writers skillfully keep the momentum fluctuating between calm and exciting, particularly in the first half; the second half has a bit of a lag, but viewers are kept glued to the story. Also, what they and the director have managed to really carry off well is the fact that the film is led stylishly by senior actors, Dileesh, Vijayaraghavan, Vani Vishwanath and others, while the glam youngsters are just a small part of the story. Bheera first goes to the club and reports back to his father over the phone that it is just a “club run by some oldies”. But we get a feel that these oldies have lives well-lived and won’t take crap from anyone.”
