seems to offer it in plenty. The

trailer

of the Aju Varghese-Lena film was released and social media earlier today, and the film seems to have on offer a delicious mix of sibling rivalry, with some tears, romance and plenty of fun and laughs thrown in. And what is that seeming twist thrown in right at the end of the trailer. Well, it looks like audiences can find out when the film releases in theatres on February 12.

The film, directed by Arun Chandu, also has K B Ganesh Kumar, Grace Antony and Ranjitha Menon, who plays the romantic lead. Saajan Bakery also marks the screenwriting debut of actor Aju Varghese, who co-wrote the script with Arun Chandu and Sachin R Chandran.

The film revolves around the rivalry between brother-sister pair, Betsy and Boban, played by Lena and Aju, who have inherited the bakery set up by their late father - Aju in a double role - in small town Ranni. In an earlier interview with us, Aju had said that Saajan Bakery is a “sweet, transformative story”. The film’s songs, including romantic number Thozha Mazhayilum, are already a hit with audiences. The film had been completed and scheduled for a Vishu release when the pandemic struck. The cinematography is by Guru Prasad MG, music is by Prashant Pillai and editing by Aravind Manmadhan.

Apart from his other projects, Aju Varghese has two films with Dhyan Sreenivasan, which include Maxwell Jose’s Khali Purse of the Billionaires and debut director Rahul Kallu’s Powder Since 1905.
