Just like the Mollywood actor Prithviraj Sukumaran said in an interview with an online media channel, the late filmmaker Sachy was just starting his wonderful journey in filmmaking when fate took him away from the industry. Today marks the 2nd death anniversary of the Mastercraft filmmaker and writer and several M-Town celebs have taken to their official social media handles to remember Sachy.
Remembering Sachy: Movies that prove that he was a remarkable storyteller

Conflict is undoubtedly one of the major elements that a story writer uses to make the audience or the readers invested in a story. Late director-scriptwriter Sachy really made use of this pivotal element and is one of the real reasons why most of his movies are interesting to watch, void of any dull moments. Today, on his 2nd death anniversary, let's take a look at some of his most remarkable contributions to the Malayalam film industry.

Prithviraj Sukumaran - Biju Menon starrer ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum' is literally a study book for the upcoming writers on how to include conflict among the characters in a story. Written and directed by Sachy, ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ really makes the viewers invested in the movie majorly because of the battle between its two leads Ayyappan and Koshy. Although the film was remade in Telugu, it really failed to get on top of its original version as the latter one was more grounded and had a sort of believability factor in it, which the remake version unfortunately didn’t have.

Later writer Sachy penned down the script for the commercial entertainer ‘Driving Licence’ and the conflict which was seen in ‘Ayyappanum Kosiyum’ can be witnessed in this film too. What makes ‘Driving Licence’ different from ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ was its inclusion of a commercial aspect to it by adding more comedy, vibrant songs, and an overall joyful mood. Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu played lead roles in this film helmed by Lal Jr.

Written and directed by Sachy, ‘Anarkali’ proved that the ace director can also handle a romantic drama very well. Letting go of the conflict element, Sachy used a different kind of storytelling pattern in this film which may appear as the format of a usual romantic drama. What makes ‘Anarkali’ different from usual rom-com movies is majorly due to its different kinds of setting and story situations.

Sachy wrote the story for the Dileep starrer ‘Ramaleela’. With a tight-packed thriller storyline, ‘Ramaleela’ really managed to keep the viewers at the edge of their seats. The film’s climax was one of the major highlights.

Comedy campus entertainer movie ‘Chocolate’ is one of the early works of Sachy. This Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer had all the elements of a commercial entertainer and also gained much adulation from the audience. With Sachy’s brilliant writing and Shafi’s magnificent direction, ‘Chocolate’ is one of the best entertainers in Mollywood.
