Samyuktha Menon says her past few months were professionally ‘exciting’

Samyuktha Menon has a handful of projects in the pipeline including Dhanush starrer ‘Sir’. She was quite busy filming for different projects, and in her latest social media post, Samyuktha Menon shared that the past few months were ‘exciting’ for her on the professional front. The diva also quoted poet Maya Angelou, which could best explain her life.

“My past few months have been really exciting workwise. With all the love and affection that I am receiving from my audiences, it is only motivating me to work more, better and take up newer challenges. I try finding happiness in small things of everyday life which give me a positive vibe to continue with the work that I am doing. ��✨ Apt are the words by Maya Angelou, a poet & civil rights activist, “Nothing can dim the light that shines from within,” Samyuktha Menon penned.

‘Puzhu’ to ‘Joji’: When lead actors aced negative roles in films

There is a common belief in cinema that it's usually the swashbuckling heroic roles that gain a lead actor his fame among the audience, but as time passed, the audience is now starting to give much more importance to the actor who played the antagonist role in a film. Also, such negative shaded roles help an actor to unlock his full potential as an actor. Here let's take a look at some of the lead actors in Malayalam cinema who played negative shaded characters in films.

As we all know, the legendary actor Mohanlal made his debut as an antagonist character in the movie ‘Manjil Virinja Pookkal’ which was directed by the ace filmmaker Shafi. Mohanlal also shined in a negative role for the 1984 film ‘Uyarangalil’ and in the film ‘Shobhraj’ where he played an underworld don character. The J Sasikumar film which was released in 1986 was loosely based on Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Don’.

Ranging from ‘Vidheyan’ to the recently released film ‘Puzhu’, Mammootty has already proved that he is a complete actor who never fails to impress the audience with negative shaded characters. Mammootty also played a villain character in Ranjith’s directorial crime drama film ‘Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Kadha’ and also in the film ‘Munnariyippu’.

From comedy to serious characters, the Mollywood actor Dileep makes sure that he does complete justice to the roles that he takes up in films. The actor has played a terrific villain character, that is sadly overlooked by many, in Rathish Ambat’s directorial film ‘Kammara Sambhavam’. Dileep played the villain role of a character named Kammaran in the film which was released in the year 2018.

Prithviraj Sukumaran, even before his antagonist role in `Mumbai Police', has played a villain character in the crime thriller film ‘Krithyam’. Unfortunately, the film didn’t receive much positive feedback from the audience and as a result, Prithviraj’s villain character in the film didn't get much popularity. The actor also played a terrific villain character in the recently released film ‘Kuruthi’ where he played the role of Laiq.

Fahadh Faasil is one of the versatile actors in Mollywood and it's no wonder that the actor tries a negative shaded character that will soar up his acting potential. Times when the actor turned into Shammi in ‘Kumbalangi Nights’, and ‘Joji’, the audience was literally in awe seeing the actor just transforming himself into the bad guy with his nuanced mannerisms. ‘Joji’ also worked fine because of the magnificent direction of Dileesh Pothan.

The film shows how social media impacts our lives and the various ways in which it is misused. It also presents how one person’s action can also have a domino effect on others’ lives. It is a fictional story, inspired by real-life incidents.”
