Santhosh Viswanath shares the first shot from Mammootty’s One

The movie has Mammootty playing a Chief Minister
Filmmaker Santhosh Viswanath has had to wait a long time for the release of his movie One, which has Mammootty playing the role of Kerala’s

Chief Minister

. The movie was supposed to hit theatres in April and had

a few days of shoot left when the pandemic lockdown was announced. However, the filmmaker has been sharing glimpses from the film’s sets, enough to keep fans engrossed.

Recently, he shared a photo of the first shot of the movie, which went on floors last year. “It was my wish that the first shot on the first day of One’s shoot should be Mammukka’s close-up. This shot of Mammukka switching on the light with the remote was that shot. Ok on first take,” he captioned the photo he shared on his social media page.

In the movie, scripted by Bobby and Sanjay, Mammootty’s character

Kadakkal Chandran

is shown as a role model in terms of how a chief minister should be in contemporary Kerala. Another important thread of the film is the discussions that happen between the Kerala CM and a youth.

Meanwhile, the megastar still has a few scenes to shoot for the movie. Santosh had earlier told us, “We have a patchwork of the tail-end portions left. It’s an outdoor sequence with Mammukka and required a large crowd to be present. We had planned to shoot that in July end but now we would take a call based on how the situation is then. If we have to shoot the scene now, we have to compromise a lot. We would rather not shoot it when the restrictions are in place.”
