After screening at several prestigious festivals, including the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), ‘Saudi Vellakka’ has now made it to the New York Indian Film Festival. Tharun Moorthy’s directorial debut has won the best film award at the festival. ‘Saudi Vellakka," starring Lukman Avaran, Devi Varma, Binu Pappu, Sujith Shankar, Dhanya Ananya, and Gokulan, has received rave reviews at the festival and also bagged a top honour.

The director has now shared the happy news via social media. "I am filled with immense gratitude as I write this to express my heartfelt appreciation for receiving the Best Film Award for Saudi Vellakka at the New York Indian Film Festival. This recognition is an incredible honour, and I am humbled to be acknowledged among such a talented and passionate group of filmmakers," Tharun Moorthy said in the note.

The ‘Saudi Vellakka’ director also stated that the award is a reminder of how powerful storytelling can transcend boundaries: "This award serves as a reminder of the power of storytelling to bridge gaps, transcend boundaries, and bring people together. I would also like to express my deepest appreciation to the cast and crew of the film.
