Shaji Kailas lauds ‘ARM’ and ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’: 'Audiences are ready for change'

Veteran director Shaji Kailas recently heaped praise on the Tovino Thomas starrer ‘ARM’ and Asif Ali’s mystery thriller film ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’.

Talking to Cue Studio, the ‘Kaduva’ director said that the audiences have changed and now they are ready to accept any genre and experiments if it is presented in the right manner.

He said, “‘ARM’ did well at the box office. Its story is based on a myth that was well presented to the audiences, leading to its acceptance.”


Further talking about Asif Ali’s ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’, the veteran director said that the audiences accepted the movie due to its perfection in execution. “The audiences accepted both the films even though they are of different genres. They watched both the movies and enjoyed it,” said the ‘Kaapa’ director.


Shaji Kailas added that nowadays audiences are ready to accept changes in storytelling, whereas during the old times, the filmmakers were not willing to try experimental projects. “Now the filmmakers have surpassed the fear of trying experimental projects. They understood that audiences will wholeheartedly welcome a movie if it’s presented in the right way,” concluded Shaji Kailas.


Meanwhile, Shaji Kailas’ previous directorial venture was the horror thriller film ‘Hunt’ starring Bhavana in the lead. The movie marked the team-up of Bhavana and Shaji Kailas after a long hiatus.



On the other hand, Shaji Kailas is all set for the sequel of the superhit Suresh Gopi starrer ‘Chinthamani Kolacase’. Suresh Gopi will be reprising the role of Lal Krishna Viradiyar in the thriller film.
