Shaji Kailas shuts down rumours of new film with Mohanlal, says, “ There is no truth to these claims”

Director Shaji Kailas has officially addressed the swirling rumours about an upcoming film with superstar Mohanlal, firmly denying any such collaboration in the works.


Speculations are entirely false and baseless

Shaji Kailas took to social media on Tuesday to clear the air and put an end to the speculation.

In his statement, Shaji Kailas said, “I would like to address the rumors circulating regarding an upcoming project starring Mohanlal under my direction. Please note that these speculations are entirely false and baseless. As of now, there is no truth to these claims. I appreciate the enthusiasm and support from all of you, and rest assured, any official announcements regarding my projects will come directly from me.”



Netizens say - Senior directors should do movies with freshers

The clarification comes amid a wave of buzz among fans, especially after several unverified sources suggested that the actor-director duo was reuniting for another mass entertainer. Shaji’s post, however, makes it clear that no such film has been planned or signed yet. Shaji Kailas’ post was flooded with comments from fans. One comment read, “Good decision.” Another comment read, “Senior directors should do movies with freshers new directors should do with senior actors.. Thats how should be the healthy industry works..... If you have an open date its trust you have broked it many times than anyone in the industry and you know that too.....”

‘Alone’ fails to impress the audiences

The last time Shaji Kailas and Mohanlal worked together was for the 2023 film ‘Alone’, a pandemic-era thriller that featured Mohanlal as a motivational speaker trapped in an apartment during a lockdown. Although originally intended for OTT, the film was eventually released in theatres but failed to make a mark at the box office.

Post-’Alone’, Shaji Kailas moved on to direct 'Hunt', a crime thriller starring Bhavana in the lead as a forensic science student. Meanwhile, Mohanlal has been busy with multiple high-profile projects including ‘Empuraan’, ‘Thudarum’, ‘Ram’, and others.
