Muthumani finds it an empowering moment for women. "Sherly puts in the effort to understand another woman,"she says adding while a major chunk of the characters in the movie were judgmental about Nikki’s mother’s romance affair with Major Unnikrishnan, Sherly doesn’t care.
"She is the mother of someone who belongs to the majority, who thinks it may lead to gossips and so on. At a time when we realise that it is time to put our ideas into action and bring changes in the societal taboos, thoughts and norms, Sherly is taking an effort to do it. Even as her son backs out of marrying Nikki, she comes to Chennai from Kerala to empathise with another woman,"she says.
Muthumani also praises Urvashi's acting skills. "Urvashi ma'm just does it so convincingly with subtle expressions. And it makes it more adorable. She is a super talented actress,"she adds.
