A woman arrested in Alappuzha with hybrid ganja has alleged that actors Shine Tom Chacko and Sreenath Bhasi were among those who received drugs from her.
According to Reporter Live, the accused, identified as Christina alias Taslima Sultana, a Chennai native, made these claims during interrogation. Excise officials have reportedly obtained digital evidence linking her to the two actors.
Arrested woman had connections with several influential figuresAccording to police investigations, the arrested woman had ties with several influential figures in the film industry. She was allegedly involved in distributing hybrid ganja smuggled from abroad, mainly in Ernakulam. However, she later expanded operations to Alappuzha, leading to her arrest. Christina was caught by the Excise Department with hybrid ganja worth ₹2 crore, and shockingly, her children were also present at the time of her arrest. The operation was led by Alappuzha Narcotics CI Mahesh.
Further inquiries revealed that Christina was working with Firoz, a Mannancherry native, to distribute the drugs. Initial reports suggest the hybrid ganja was sourced from Thailand. Besides drug trafficking, police suspect Christina’s involvement in a sex racket. Authorities have also linked her to a case involving the drugging and sexual exploitation of a minor.
Police are now investigating whether her visit to Alappuzha was connected to the sex racket. Meanwhile, Christina has admitted to supplying drugs in Alappuzha and Ernakulam, prompting officials to broaden their probe into a larger network.
Sreenath Bhasi respondsSreenath Bhasi has now responded to the allegations, denying any involvement. "People are making up stories. I have nothing to do with this, and I have no further comments," he stated, according to Kerala Kaumudi.
