In Shibu Gangadharan’s upcoming film Rudrasimhasanam starring Suresh Gopi as the male lead, actresses Shweta Menon and Kaniha will play two real life characters. Shweta plays a woman named Umayamma while Kaniha dons the role of Mohini chitta in the film. Nikki Galrani will play the leading lady Haimavathy “Both Shweta and Kaniha act as people who have to face the continual exploitation our women are subjected to. While they put up their best fight to survive, these women are forced to succumb at the end, just as most women in real life are. The film will also present many bitter situations that women have to face in our society,” Shibu says.
The two women will play their parts in the get up of typical women of Malayali households, in sari and settumundu, the director adds. The Sunil Parameshwaran scripted film has Suresh Gopi playing a yogic personality.
