Soubin Shahir and Deepak Parambol reunite for ‘Thattum Vellattam’ after ‘Manjummel Boys’

After the blockbuster success of ‘Manjummel Boys,’ Soubin Shahir and Deepak Parambol are teaming up once again for an exciting new film titled Thattum Vellattam. The film is directed by Mridul Nair, known for his acclaimed works ‘BTech’ and ‘Kasargold,’ both starring the talented Asif Ali in the lead. This marks Mridul’s third directorial venture, following two successful collaborations with the ‘Rekhachithram’ actor.


Why is ‘Thattum Vellattam’ special?

What makes Thattum Vellattam even more special is that it features a screenplay by Akhil K., a Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award winner, making his debut in the film industry. The film’s title announcement video has already caught the audience’s attention, as it is the first time a Malayalam film’s title is being revealed through a dedicated video.

Set against the backdrop of Theyyam, the film explores the intense ego clashes and ensuing conflicts between a Theyyam performer and a non-performer. Deepak Parambol plays the role of a Theyyam artist, and his powerful presence in the teaser has already impressed viewers. Soubin Shahir plays a significant role alongside him.

A commercial entertainer with action and drama

‘Thattum Vellattam’ is expected to be a mass commercial entertainer with action and drama, similar to Suresh Gopi’s Kaliyattam. The film is produced by The Filmy Joint, with cinematography handled by Manoj Kumar Khatoi. While the film boasts a star-studded cast, the makers have kept further details under wraps for now.
