Sunny Hinduja: I love the progressive content in Malayalam films

Sunny Hinduja, who worked on Aspirants and The Railway men web series, is excited to make his foray into the south with Malayalam fantasy comedy, Hello Mummy. He is currently in Thrissur for the shoot of the Vaishakh Elans directorial, which has Aishwarya Lekshmi and Sharafudeen in the lead roles.

Sunny spoke to us about being a fan of Malayalam films and the warmth on sets, which he feels is important on a shoot.

“I’m a big, big fan of Malayalam films; always have been,” says Sunny. “I love the progressive content that is made here and I’m really excited to be a part of this film.” He is a fan of Fahadh Faazil and his Joji and Trance, apart from Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey and The Great Indian Kitchen, and many more, he says.


Apparently, the actor was contacted by the director for the role and he says, “I believe that I don’t choose scripts, but scripts choose me and I feel this is what happened on this project. Vaishakh was keen to take me on and for me, it was a no-brainer to take it on and step into this industry that I have admired. The film goes in a certain genre and when I enter, it becomes another genre. I speak a mix of Malayalam and Hindi; but mostly communicate with my eyes.”

Also telling us about the atmosphere of working on sets here, he says, “I’d already travelled down once before to speak with the director and meet the team, so we had already established a good vibe. It feels like home when I am here on my shoot now. There is a lot of love and care on sets, which is important for me while shooting, and this place is full of that.”
