Suresh Gopi-Priyamani to play a couple in Papa

Action hero Suresh Gopi is all set to play a character he hasn’t been doing for a long while — that of a dad. The actor will play father to a 10-year-old boy in Prasanth Mampulli’s next film, aptly titled Papa. The film is all about a father-son relationship and the makers obviously felt that Suresh Gopi will be just right for the role.
“It will be a family entertainer, and Suresh Gopi was very much interested when we sounded the subject to him,” says Biju Mainagappali, the producer of the film.The actor will play a father who goes through all kinds of struggles for the sake of his son. Priyamani will play Suresh Gopi’s wife in the film. “The couple belong to two religions, and the film will also have portions showing their courtship years back in the 80s,” says Biju.
Interestingly, the actor will also be singing a song in the film, to be composed by Ratheesh Vega. “There is this scene in the film, which shows the couple’s child performing for a music reality show where the anchor asks him who is his guru. The boy says his papa is his guru and when he is invited on stage, he gives an amazing performance.”
This will be director Prasanth’s third outing in Mollywood after Love Story and Bhagavan, a film shot in a span of 18 hours.
