’. Suresh Gopi essayed Aromal Chekavar in the movie which is set in the 16th century and is one of the best period films Mollywood has ever had.

Sharing the picture, Suresh Gopi wrote, “A delightful stroll down memory lane! Chandu Chekavar, Aromal Chekavar, and the gifted crew of #OruVadakkanVeeragatha.#FromTheArchives #GodBlessedBeing.”Directed by Hariharan, ‘Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha’ is inspired by the Vadakkan pattu, the Ballads of North Malabar. Although it is based on the folklore, scenarist MT Vasudevan Nair has placed the lead character Chandu Chekavar (Mammootty) in a better light. In the Ballads, Chandu Chekavar is referred to as Chathiyan Chandu, the person who always betrays. But ‘Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha’ shows his innocent part. The movie had a bunch of stars including Mammootty, Balan K Nair, Suresh Gopi, Madhavi, Vineeth Kumar, and Geetha among others. The movie has won several National Awards including the best screenplay, best actor for Mammootty, art direction, and costume design.

Meanwhile, Suresh Gopi’s last release was Anoop Sathyan’s directorial ‘Varane Avashyamund’. He essayed the lead role in the movie opposite Shobana. The actor will be next seen in Nithin Renji Panicker’s directorial ‘Kaaval’.
