Tessa to play a lawyer in Marupadi

seems to be keen to embrace versatile roles in her second innings in M-Town. The actress, who recently played the mother of Kunchacko Boban and Asif Ali in the film Rajamma@Yahoo, will next be seen as a lawyer in V M Vinu's upcoming movie Marupadi.
The director says, 'She plays a character named Anu, and Santhosh Keezhattoor is cast as her husband. They are family friends of Bhamaa and Rahman's characters in the film. We chose Tessa to play the role as the character goes through different phases of life in the story, and she has the potential to pull off such roles well.'

Tessa, who has completed one schedule of the shoot, says, 'In most of my films I am seen in mature roles, wearing saris and sporting long hair. In this movie, I play a modern personality, who wears fashionable clothes mostly. She drives, stands up for her friends boldly when in need and is a smart lawyer too. Towards the end of the film, I also appear in a mature avatar.'

The actress is happy to be working with Santhosh Keezhattoor, who should have been her co-star in Rajamma@Yahoo. 'He couldn't join the project due to some date issues and that is when Saiju Kurup came in to that film. Santhosh's theatre background makes him an amazing actor well-versed in the craft,' she says. Marupadi is a family entertainer and the shooting is progressing in Kannur.
