Scheduled for release on March 7, the film delves into a true incident that transpired in the village of Thankamani in October 1986, marked by a dispute over a bus service, escalating into a police baton charge and gunfire.

The movie, serving as Dileep's 148th venture, weaves a gripping narrative around the authentic events of 1986. However, as anticipation builds, a resident from Thankamani village files a plea in the Kerala High Court, challenging the CBFC certification for 'Thankamani the Bleeding Village.' The petitioner objects to the teaser's portrayal of fictional events involving hidden men in fields and police misconduct, citing the lack of official records or documentation supporting such occurrences.

Adding to the heightened expectations is director Ratheesh Reghunandan, renowned for his directorial prowess demonstrated in the dark thriller 'Udal,' featuring Indrans, Durga Krishna, and Dhyan Sreenivasan in pivotal roles. The director's track record amplifies the excitement surrounding 'Thankamani,' raising hopes for a riveting and thought-provoking cinematic experience.

The film boasts an ensemble cast, with Dileep portraying Abel Joshua Maathan, the central character in this crime thriller. Alongside him, the cast includes Pranitha Subhash, Neeta Pillai, Manoj K Jayan, Siddique, and many others in pivotal roles.
