Thanneermathan Dinangal movie review highlights: A solid teen comedy

A movie that draws an enjoyable, colourful and nostalgic picture of those decisive teen years,

Thanneermathan Dinangal

is a bright little romantic

teen comedy

. It captures many relatable moments from the life of a higher secondary school student Jaison, played to perfection by Mathew Thomas, of Kumbalangi Nights fame.

In the first half, the movie shows how Jaison tries his hand at winning over the heart of Keerthi (Anaswara Rajan), his pretty classmate. He considers his Malayalam teacher Ravi Padmanabhan (Vineeth Sreenivasan) his nemesis, as Keerthi is a big fan of the guy. And the equation between them goes through a tricky patch till the intermission.

The movie is definitely a crowd pleaser with good-natured humour, appealing performers and a fresh story. It also has some clever writing and hilarious situations mixed in. Will the second half be as engaging as the first?
