The day women refuse to act in such films, misogyny will end: Santosh Pandit

Amidst the barrage of abuse that actress Parvathy has been recieving for pointing out the misogyny in Mammootty starrer

, actor and director Santhosh Pandit has made surprisingly practical observations.

''In the case of the majority of films being released, the scriptwriter, director and producer would all be men. A woman will be portrayed in a a way the men would want. Assuming that most of the audience are men, the film would have glamour scenes, sex scenes and double meaning words. The men will be successful in this business of cinema. Their aim is to make a commercial success, not to better society.

The majority of women choose to be actresses, and slowly move to other languages before getting married and moving out.

Even in the case of films like women directors, there will be sex scenes and glamour. All this will end only when all the women of India decide that they will not act in a movie where women are portrayed badly.''
