The Gambler movie review highlights: A first half about the everyday struggles of an average father

The Gambler

, which extends to about 2 hours 1 min, brings us the tale of Anson, who is struggling to make both ends meet and is working in a branding company.

It also shows how his son Franz is equally striving to learn or even make a mark among his friends in School. Anson plays his namesake in the film, and through his conflicts and turmoils, the makers have attempted to show the helplessness of a man, who is literally at crossroads. This creates a discord in his family life too.

That said, the performances of the actors falter at times and doesn't move the audience.
