The motion poster of the upcoming Malayalam film ‘Roy’ was recently released.

The poster easily gives a thriller vibe of the film, in which Suraj Venjaramoodu plays the eponymous role. Earlier, the makers had said that the movie would have a husband and wife as the centra characters, and is a family-oriented thriller. Shine Tom Chacko also plays a major role in the film and actress Sija Rose, who was part of many films like ‘Ni Ko Nja Cha,’ ‘Ustad Hotel,’ ‘Annayum Rasoolum’ and more will also play a major role in the film. Jins Baskar is also part of the cast.

The film, which should have gone on floors in the month of April, was put on hold due to the lockdown. The director had said in an interview that the team wanted to shoot in Thiruvananthapuram, but are now also considering Nilambur and Ernakulam. He added that the film has a character-centric story, and the shoot can be done indoors with minimal crew, which is also their reason to look for alternate location options.

The director had also said that currently, the makers are not keen about giving it an OTT release, though its content can work well on the platform too. He added that this is a time in which filmmakers have to think out of the box. He also said that he has been watching a lot of content on OTT platforms from other languages too and because of the platform, he sometimes still gets messages from viewers outside, about his earlier projects.
