Actor Tini Tom has publicly apologized after facing backlash over remarks he made about
Malayalam cinema legend Prem Nazir. Expressing regret over his words, the actor insisted that his words were misinterpreted and never meant to offend.
"Who am I to speak ill of such a legend?"Tini Tom began his statement by humbly acknowledging Prem Nazir’s towering stature in Malayalam cinema. “There are millions who worship Nazir sir as the God of Malayalam cinema. I am just a small admirer among them. Where he stands and where I am — there is no comparison,” he said.
The controversy began after an excerpt from an interview circulated online, in which Tini Tom was quoted saying Prem Nazir spent his final days visiting the homes of fellow actors Adoor Bhasi and Bahadoor in tears due to a lack of film offers. The comment sparked outrage, with actress Bhagyalakshmi among those criticizing him for spreading what she termed a “deeply hurtful” narrative.
“Never intended to hurt anyone”In his video, Tini Tom explained that he was simply recounting an anecdote shared with him by a senior figure in the industry. “It was not something I invented. I haven’t even met Nazir sir in person. What I said was shared with respect, not mockery or belittlement,” he said.

“Ready to apologize without conditions”Tini Tom concluded his statement with a sincere apology: “If I’ve made a mistake, I am ready to apologize unconditionally — even to fall at the feet of the great legend if needed.” He added that he has always tried to live by the principle of not hurting others, even unintentionally.
