Tovino Thomas reacts to ‘ARM’ online leak: Such high-quality print is not possible without theatre owners' knowledge

While Tovino Thomas-starrer ‘Ajayante Randam Moshanam’ continues to attract audiences to the theatres, a recent unfortunate incident has affected the film. Director Jithin Lal says that a print of the film leaked online, which is a serious issue regarding the safety of the movie's distribution.

About the leaks, Tovino Thomas spoke to Asianet News, venting his disbelief and worry over the clarity of the leaked visuals. "The visuals in the leaked online version are shot without any shake. It is impossible to achieve such clarity without the knowledge of the theatre owners. Shooting the whole film inside a theatre with a handheld phone or camera, not using a tripod, is simply beyond human capacity". Perhaps there are other factors involved, but I don't know about them.


Tovino also shared his fears on the grounds that a planned effort by a special group might have been behind the leakage. "Have you seen someone shooting the whole film inside a theatre? I haven't seen that," he questioned.

The actor had suggested an inquiry on how such leakage took place and whether it leaked particularly in any theatres. According to him, even with modern technologies of detection, break-ins continue to happen.

It was on the last day that the director Jithin Lal, via his Instagram handle, shared the news regarding the leakage of ‘ARM’ online. The director penned a note that read, “A friend send me this .. heart breaking… vere onnum parayan ella … telegram vazhi ARM kanendavar kanatte … alathe enth parayana (A friend send me this .. heart breaking…I have nothing more to say…Those who watched the film via Telegram…let them watch…what else can I say?).

Meanwhile, even with such issues, ‘ARM’ has turned out to be the Onam winner, raking in more than Rs 50 crore worldwide. The budget of the movie is reportedly around Rs 30 crore.
