Unni Mukundan’s ‘Malikappuram’ to stream on OTT from THIS day!

Unni Mukundan starrer ‘Malikappuram’ which was released theatrically on December 30, continues to run successfully in the cinemas, and the makers has announced its OTT debut. Directed by Vishnu Sasi Shankar, ‘Malikappuram’ will start streaming on a popular OTT platform from February 15. The OTT platform has confirmed the same via a tweet.

Starring Unni Mukundan, Deva Nandha and Sreepath, ‘Malikappuram’ tells the story of a girl who wishes to go to Sabarimala, and decides to travel with her friend. ‘Malikappuram’ crossed Rs 100 crore at the worldwide box office collection, on its 40th day. The film is gearing towards screening 50 days in cinemas, and continues to entertain the audience.
In an earlier interview with ETimes, Unni Mukundan stated that he is enthralled by the way the audience have received the film. “It is a huge blessing. These are the kind of roles that will stay with you for a long time. ‘Malikappuram’ is my biggest hit, not only in terms of numbers but also in elevating my graph as an actor. I am touched by the audience response. There was this elderly gentleman, in his 90s, who said that he will never be able to go to Sabarimala, because of his ill health, but watching the film gave him what he wanted! As an actor, these are the moments you live for,” he said.

As ‘Malikappuram’ is gearing up for its 0TT release, the film is expected to reach a wider audience.
