Vijay Babu turns hero

Lal Jose has already announced his next project after Vikramaditya. The yet untitled project will be of a family genre, on the lines of Diamond Necklace, with Vijay Babu as the hero. The ex-channel head, who will mark his debut as the hero with this film, is quite excited about the project.
“Lal Jose had spoken to me about it long back, but hadn’t formally announced it.I’m glad he did it finally,” says Vijay Babu. “For someone like me who is practically a beginner, it’s a huge thing to play the lead in a Lal Jose film. I can even stop acting afterwards!” he quips.
Vijay Babu has earlier acted in Lal Jose’s Ayalum Njanum Thammil, besides Honeybee and the upcoming film Escape from Uganda. It must have been during the shoot of Ayalum Njanum Thammil that Lal Jose decided to cast him as the hero in his next project, he says.
“The story was always in his mind, but I guess he saw the character in me when he saw me,” says the actor, who adds that he will keep his dates free from the middle of next year and wait for this film. Another highlight of the film is that it will be the first film to be produced by Lal Jose’s production house.
The director will start the work on Vikrarmaditya as soon as he is done with his current project, Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal. However, right now, the director is busy preparing for his much discussed world tour, on an SUV!
