Vikram on box office clash with Mohanlal’s 'Empuraan’: ‘My wife will watch…’

With L2: Empuraan’ and Veera Dheera Sooran’ set for a high-profile box office clash, Tamil star Vikram found himself in a fun dilemma—his wife, Shailaja Balakrishnan, is a huge Mohanlal fan, and he isn’t sure whether she’ll watch Empuraan or his own film first.

‘Veera Dheera Sooran’ and ‘Empuraan’ clash

‘Empuraan’, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and starring Mohanlal, arrives on March 27. it will clash directly with Vikram’s ‘Veera Dheera Sooran’, helmed by SU Arun Kumar. Meanwhile, Salman Khan’s Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, will enter the race on March 30, adding to the intense competition over the Eid weekend.

“She would watch...” - Vikram

During a recent media interaction in Kerala, Vikram playfully revealed that he asked his wife which film she planned to watch first. Her response? She would watch both. The actor, a longtime admirer of Mohanlal, echoed her sentiment, stating that he, too, would be watching both films. He also highlighted the beauty of India’s multilingual film culture, saying, “Now, there is no Malayalam, Tamil, or Telugu. It’s all the same. Different languages, different cultures—let’s just enjoy it.”

An interesting battle

With ‘Empuraan’ marking Mohanlal’s much-anticipated return as Abram Qureshi and Veera Dheera Sooran promising to showcase Vikram in a powerful role, the battle at the box office is set to be an electrifying one. Fans of both stars are eagerly awaiting the outcome of this mega showdown. Interestingly the Mollywood actor Suraj Venjaramoodu will be playing important roles in both the Vikram starrer and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s third directorial venture.
