Vimaanam movie review highlights: A first half that lives up to the expectations

The film, inspired by the life of aircraft maker

, presents Prithviraj's character first as someone who is hearing impaired. The first half of the movie lives up to the expectations and there is no dull moment at any point. The story switches between the present and the past, sometime in the 90s or earlier, where Venkiti is shown a brilliant child with a hearing problem, and dreams of making an aircraft.

As he grows older, he is termed crazy by villagers but his dream starts to take shape slowly. There is nothing new in the parallel love track featuring actress Durga Krishna, with Saiju Kurup as the rival rich fiance. But the plot-line of a mechanic from a village dreaming of flying a plane sure offers something fresh.
