Being a part of a Mammootty movie is every Mollywood actor’s dream. Manju Warrier who is referred to as the ‘Lady Superstar’ of Mollywood, however, hadn’t got an opportunity to collaborate with the Megastar till now. But this jinx has broken now, and the gorgeous actress has bagged the role of the female lead in the upcoming Mammootty-starrer ‘The Priest’. Directed by debutant Jofin T Chacko, the upcoming movie 'The Priest' will feature Mammootty and Manju Warrier in the lead roles. The actress joined the team this week and was super excited to work with the Megastar!

Wedding bash

This week, Mollywood saw three star weddings. Actor Vishnu Unnikrishnan got hitched. 'Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan' actor Vishnu Unnikrishnan got married to Aishwarya in a traditional Hindu wedding on February 2. Actor Balu Varghese and model Aileena Catherin Amon also became man and wife on the same day. The couple exchanged vows according to Christian tradition and the wedding was followed by a lavish reception. 'Leela' fame actress Parvathy Nambiar also tied the knot with Vineeth Menon who is a pilot by profession on the same day.

Shobana, Lissy, Nadiya, and Aishwarya recreate Raja Ravi Varma paintings

This week, M-Town women Shobana, Lissy Lakshmi,

Nadiya Moidu

, and Aishwarya Rajesh were featured on a limited-edition calendar. Themed after the paintings of Raja Ravi Varma, photographer G Venket Ram recreated some of the popular paintings of Raja Ravi Varma. The gorgeous ladies of M-Town became muse to the photographer and the pictures did the rounds on social media.

Mamta roped in to play the female lead in 'Ramasethu'

Mamta Mohandas was roped in to play the female lead in 'Ramasethu'. She will be essaying the role of E Sreedharan's wife in the movie which is a biopic based on the metro man E Sreedharan. Jayasurya is essaying the role of E Sreedharan. Directed by VK Prakash, the movie will go on floors by August 2020.

‘Anjaam Pathira’ and ‘Shylock’ enter the 50 crore club

The Kunchacko Boban-starrer crime thriller that received positive reviews has hit the 50-crore club. Released on January 10, ‘Anjaam Pathira’ grasped the attention of the audience for its intriguing mystery plot. Mammootty-starrer ‘Shylock’ which was released on January 23 and that one too entered the 50-crore club this week. Both of the movies are still in theatres and continuing their box office rampage.
