In light of the controversies surrounding Mollywood actor Mukesh, including recent allegations following the unveiling of the Hema Commission reports, a throwback to his personal life sheds light into his past marriage with classical dancer Methil Devika.
Mukesh, who was previously married to actress Saritha before they divorced, later tied the knot with Devika in 2013. However, this marriage too ended in divorce.
During their separation, Methil Devika shared her thoughts in an interview with Manorama Online, shedding light on their relationship.
Devika emphasized that their decision to part ways was purely personal, with no malice or ill feelings. "I have no adverse feelings about Mukesh, and our separation was purely a personal decision," she stated. The divorce process was delayed as Devika chose to wait until after the elections before proceeding.
In her candid reflections, Devika attributed the controversies surrounding Mukesh to his political involvement, stating that they were politically motivated. "These issues stem entirely from his involvement in politics. He was aware of the potential consequences before stepping into the political arena and was prepared to face them. The negativity didn’t faze him. From what I know, he's a good person." Devika clarified.
However, she admitted that despite being together for eight years, she struggled to understand him as a husband. “He was never a good husband,” Methil Devika remarked, explaining her decision to end the marriage.
Methil Devika also emphasized that she had no intentions of gaining anything from the divorce, expressing hope that they could remain good friends despite their separation. Since their split, Methil Devika has been residing at her ancestral home in Palakkad. Mukesh was previously married to Saritha, with whom he has two sons.
