Most of the college scenes in the film were shot at the Union Christian College in Kerala.

Minnaram:

The college scenes in the film Minnaram were less, but everyone could relate to the story of the movie. It made the audience remember their college days. The movie was further remade into Tamil as Azhagana Naatkal.

Sarvakalashala:

Sarvakalashala showcased college life in the late 1980's. The movie stared Mohanlal, Jagathi Sreekumar, Sukumaran, Adoor Bhasi, and Seema in lead roles. Mohanlal played the role of a student who takes on three Masters Degrees in a college and continues as a student as he was an orphan. The movie showed the different stages in the life of different students.

Classmates:

Classmates narrated the story of a batch of students in a college and the change in their lives after they complete their studies. The movie created a whole new genre of college campus-based films, which was well appreciated by the audience as well the critics. Classmate was further remade into Tamil as Ninaithale Inikkum, and in Telugu and Marathi respectively.

Nammal:

Nammal was a story of two youngsters Shyam and Shivan and their life at college. The movie showed the various stages of college life which include friendship, romance, ragging and fights. The movie was shot in the campus of Government Engineering College in Thrissur and Holy Trinity School in Palakkad.

Chocolate:

Chocolate revolves around the theme of love and friendship. It is the story about the adventures of a trouble maker Shyam, who gets admitted into a women's college with over 3000 girls. The movie was a huge blockbuster and was well appreciated by the audience as well as the critics.

Seniors:

Seniors is a story of 4 ex-students who decide to come back to college to study again. The movie featured Jayaram,Kunchacko Boban, Biju Menon and Manoj K Jayan in lead roles. The movie ends with an interesting climax of why these friends had decided to come back to college after so many years. The movie was well appreciated by the audience and also got a very good opening at the box office.

Niram:

Niram is a colorful youth oriented movie which brings back memories of college days. The movie depicts the concepts of college life, love and friendship. The movie was a huge commercial success and ran in the theaters for around 150 days. The movie was further remade into Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu.
