Afzal Yusuff and Anne Amie present new music video, ‘Smrithiyude Thazhvaram’

Yusuff and Filmfare Award winner singer Anne Amie come together for a new music video.

The project, which is titled ‘Smrithiyude Thazhvaram,’ is a melody about lost love. The song is penned by Vinayak Sasikumar.

The music video is directed by Sumesh Lal and it has keyboard programming by Roshan Sebastian. The song has guitar by Abin Sagar, sarangi by Ahsan Ali and sarod by Abhishek Borkar.



Afzal had also told us earlier, "The pandemic has made music more universal as we have been working remotely and collaborating with different musicians virtually. For the song ‘Smrithiyude Thazhvaram,’ we collaborated with musicians from Delhi, Chennai and Pune. Only Anne and I were from Kochi," he says.

He had also revealed that ever since the lockdown, he has been exploring the possibilities of digital platforms. His most recent independent project before ‘Smrithiyude Thazhvaram’ was a song with singer Arya Dhayal.
It was her first recording for a music director after her performances, which had even impressed the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, went viral online a few months ago.

The track was a melody written by Kaviprasand Gopinath. Afzal had told us about the song, “Arya is a singer who is known to handle both Carnatic and Western music genres equally well and this song also has enough portions that let her explore those styles of singing. It has some stylish as well as hardcore Indian elements.”
The song goes ‘Raanilaavu Ranthalai Naalam Onnu Neettave.’
