Nanjamma, who was introduced to playback singing by the late director Sachy, has now rendered her voice for a film by director Vijeesh Mani. The movie stars actor – footballer

in main role. The recording of the song was held in a studio recently in Thrissur. The singer is the one who also wrote the song.

As per reports, the Vijeesh Mani movie is titled ‘Mmm,’ and American singer Edon Mulla has also rendered voice for yet another song in the movie.

IM Vijayan, Jayaraj Warrier and Palani Swami were also reportedly present at the studio in Thrissur, while Nanjamma’s recording was going on. The movie apparently aims to create awareness on environment, and also has many non-Malayali and foreign artistes as part of its cast. Its shoot had also started on World Environment Day, June 5.

Earlier, Nanjamma had revealed that though she got quite a few offers to sing in Malayalam and Tamil after her debut song became a hit, she couldn’t take them up due to the Covid – 19 restrictions.
Nanjamma’s debut song was also written by the singer herself, while its tune was composed by Jakes Bejoy. The track was written in Nanjamma’s native language, Irula. The singer has been part of the Attappaby-based Azad Kala Samitha, that performs dance and music of the region across Kerala.
