Jomonte Suvisheshangal

Musician Vidyasagar has gifted Mollywood some stunningly simple and evergreen songs in the past, but his latest album '

Jomonte Suvisheshangal

' cant be clubbed in the same league.

They might climb the charts once the film is out, with the help of some interesting visuals, but at the outset, they sound neither bad nor brilliant.
The first track 'Nokki Nokki' is chirpy, with some soft orchestration and free flowing vocals. The breezy vocals of Abhay Jodhpurkar and Merin Gregory perfectly complement each other, but the song is an average fare, in effect.
'Poonkattey', the second song by Balram, has a slight melodious folk texture to it, which is quite touching in the soothing voice of the singer. It reminds one of many yesteryear songs of lovelorn protagonists in films, and triggers curiosity as to how it would look on screen. It is also the best song of the album.
Wrapping up the album is 'Neelakasham' by Sujatha Mohan and Najim Arshad. The song doesnt have a solid melody, and isnt a hummable tune either, which makes it hardly engaging.

On the whole, 'Jomonte Suvisheshagal' wouldnt count among the best compositions of Vidyasagar.
