The title song of Jayaram’s ‘Namo’ is here

The film is directed by Vijeesh Mani
The first song of actor Jayaram’s film ‘Namo,’ which is in Sanskrit language, is just out. The song is composed by Kalaimaamani Jayachandran and sung by Aishwarya Devakumar. It is penned by Nandakishore.

A few months ago, Jayaram’s look for the movie had gone viral. He has not only tonsured his head, but has also reduced his weight by about 20 kgs, to play the character of Kuchelan, who is Lord Krishna’s childhood friend as per mythological texts, for this movie.

Namo has artistes and technicians from across the country, in various departments. The film’s background music is by renowned musician Hariprasad Chaurasia, and compositions are by Anoop Jalota. National Award winner B Lenin is the editor of the film, which has S Lokanathan as the cinematographer. Earlier, Vijeesh had told us, “A group of 10 Malayali language experts known as Live Sanskrit, who work to promote the language helped us immensely to get the various linguistic aspects right.” Namo also has Malayali artistes Anjali Nair, Saniya and Meenakshi as part of the cast and was shot mostly in Srirangapatna.

This film presents Kuchelan’s dharma sangadam (moral ambiguity) in its entirety, according to the makers.
Jayaram had earlier told us that Sanskrit dialogues weren’t very tough for him. He said, “I’m someone who had his sacred thread ceremony at the age of 11, and have been chanting Gayanthri Mantra since then. So, I am familiar with it and it wasn’t hard. Moreover, there were a handful of language experts from institutions like Kalady Sree Sankara College, who were helping us, free of cost. They were there throughout the shoot to assist me and will be around during the dubbing too.”
